STF will work with all stakeholders to strengthen the disaster preparedness and response and support creation of contingency plans and strategies to improve disaster preparedness and humanitarian response capacity. We also participate in supporting monitoring and evaluation of emergency response interventions. Humanitarian response in the region is hamstrung by an international aid ecosystem that is often reactive rather than proactive.
Humanitarian programs are implemented in response to, not in anticipation of crisis. STF with the help of its donors will change this dynamic through an integrated and anticipatory humanitarian response that acts proactively to mitigate the consequences of humanitarian crises before they occur. Through an anticipatory fund, standardized preemptive humanitarian measures, partnerships with the government structures and communities and an integrated humanitarian infrastructure, STF will revolutionize humanitarian response in not only Kenya but the entire region.
