Who we are

Who We Are

STF’s original mandate was to solely undertake women empowerment programmes and advocate for gender equality. Over the years, the mandate has expanded its scope to Research and Development (R&D), Food Security and Livelihood (FSL), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Peacebuilding and Governance, Gender responsive protection and Humanitarian Assistance and Development.

What We Do

STF embraces the Community Driven Development (CDD) model that operates on the principles of transparency, participation, local empowerment, demand-responsiveness, greater downward accountability, and enhanced local capacity. The main purpose of community development is to organize the people to bring about sustainable development. This is to enable the people to collectively identify, prioritize and plan to solve their problems that ultimately leads to sustainable development. STF works for and through the community members to achieve overall development that meets the immediate and long term needs of community. The CDD places the community and its needs at the center of its planning and implementation.

At STF, we have dedicated teams of professionals and volunteers to support beneficiaries through specialized services in:

• Protection services
• WASH and hygiene promotion services
• Peace building initiatives
• Food security and livelihood activities
